Johnston & Mather provides a full range of architectural services, specialising in private housing in the UK and abroad. We have increased our scope of work through an association with Wimshurst Pelleriti, who are located in London and Italy.
We deliver creative, practical and efficient architectural services with an emphasis on high-quality design and personal service. We have an interest in intermediate technology solutions, such as passive solar energy, reed bed drainage systems and heat pumps. This has informed our housing work for people with special needs in Romania and the People's Republic of China.
Though design is very important, there are other aspects to architecture and construction that are critical to success, including project management where we are particularly well-qualified. James Mather holds an MBA and is on the RICS project management qualification advisory board.
Projects
Many of our clients have older buildings, and in many cases these buildings are listed or in conservation areas. These are most often residential projects.
We have carried out a number of church projects, including a new hall at St James the Less in Stubbings, Berkshire. This project was commended in the Windsor and Maidenhead Awards. Our Principal, James Mather, is a quinquennial surveyor for the Diocese of London and a member of the URC North Thames Listed Buildings Advisory Committee.
Our commercial projects include a mixed-use scheme for commercial and student accommodation in Park Royal, London, plus warehousing, listed Georgian offices in Central London and a school for children with special needs in Hampshire.
